Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Mar 22: Bajrang Dal (BD) activists stopped a bus in which two young men and a lady, who belong to different religions, were travelling together. The action of the Hindu outfit came in for bitter criticism in the social media.

The incident happened on Wednesday. At night, three persons had boarded a bus to go to Bengaluru. Bajrang Dal activists who got to know about this, stopped the bus near the bus stand at Bantwal. The police who rushed to the spot, had led the lady and the two young men to the Bantwal police station.

District superintendent of police, B M Laxmi Prasad, said that two men from Kundapur and a lady from Kerala were on their way to Bengaluru to attend a marriage ceremony. He said that the police who rushed to the spot promptly, rescued the trio and ensured that they reached Bengaluru safely. He clarified that all the three refused to lodge any official complaint. He said that therefore no case was registered. "We would have registered a suo motu case if there was assault on the trio. But this did not happen," he clarified.

Can someone explain why there is no action against minister who’s CD was leaked? Do anyone has guts to oppose the culprit and ask ruling party to take immediate action to send the culprit behind the bars? Certain parties rule / morale is like “beli hola tinnabahudu”. This is horrible situations arising in the district where once the same place was called as intelligent people’s district. There is no so called independence in the country, no moral values , only to secure vote banks certain rules are in place ...nobody cares about human values . Really sad , the attackers must think positively before doing such an act which made unhealthy atmosphere in all. Show same spirit in doing some social work (regardless of religion), so that at least you can get an appreciation.

There is no hope for Mangalore if the police don't belt them black and blue. Smart city is a far fetched dream with these goons roaming freely, If we hope for tourism, these fundamentalist groups need to be dissolved!

if such issues are always the part of our city then, how it will attract tourist. some occasion these friends are more safe then the neighbor. if we think of some developd countries, even at night 2 o'clock she can walk , drive and do anything but herself. (but don't ask why she is going at that time, some thing fishy, keep this aside.) but here they cannot take any decision with freedom. So still there is a big problem. why women don't have the same freedom the men enjoys. And moral policing that to in the name of religion is too bad.

In general it is OK if there is intermingling of people of different religion. However, People who follow the tenets which requires their women to be fully covered lest opposite sex can get attracted to them and whose tenet requires a male companion from their own family when the womenfolk travel outside should at least should show the same courtesy towards followers of other religion. It would be sheer hypocrisy if they don't practice they expect from their womenfolk.

Its a shame that police let go of the culprits, nor suo-moto case registered. If this were to happen in places like Afghanistan or some real third world country in afrika would be accepted because people there aren't educated and driven by impulses based on religious bigotry. Here in India if we let loose these idiots (BD) who do we blame? Govt? Police? who the hell these BD are to stop anybody from travelling or meeting, even if they are from different religion, so what??? we have gone 1000 Years back wards, no wonder western countries call us third world country!!!

There is absolutely no problem as long as the duo who accompanied the Girl from Kerala also have no qualms when their womenfolk freely mingled with other religion and may have to take the services of some Hindu neighbor to accompany them to Bangalore in case such need arises.

Very good job by the trio, why should they complain and get involved in a lone battle. with the BD or the law? Also No use blaming BD. This will go on and on and the max we do is, bash them on the online forums with the choicest of abuses. Besides that we are good for nothing. Like some leader openly said on national TV 'I say with no respect, that opposition is politically impotent to counter the ruling party'. So lets go with the flow.

Pacific Heights, Mangalore . Though I hate to admit it. You have hit the nail on the head. Who wants to get into all this trouble? All such acts like moral policing happens due to the fact that there is no one to object. No one to raise this with the law. I think the protectors of Tulunadu too are sleeping or are they online waiting to comment?
