Kundapur: Attempting to murder RTI activist - Four accused released on bail

Kundapur, Mar 20: Kundapur additional district and sessions court has granted bail to four men accused of inflicting murderous assault on RTI activist Shanker Shanti with iron rod in the kitchen of Barkur Kalikamba temple auditorium. They are Barkur resident Pravin Achaya, Nithin Kumar, Ramesh Ameen and Shekar Poojary. They were arrested by Brahmavar police. Similarly Prasad Acharya, Diwaker Acharya and Manjappa Poojary who were likely to be arrested have been granted anticipatory bail.

The incident took place on February 20. A case of attempted murder under IPC section 307 was registered against the accused men. Kundapur advocate Ravikiran Murdeshwar had argued for the accused.
