Mumbai: Shobha R Kini passes away at 71

Mumbai, Mar 6: Former member of GSB mandali, Dombivli committee, Shobha (Asha) R Kini (71) passed away last Friday after a brief illness.

She hailed from Karkala Bailur, Udupi district and had served as a teacher for several years at Dombivli. She was a member of the GSB mandali, Dombivli committee and helped hundreds of Dalits get free eye treatment during her time as a Rotary club member.

She was also a social worker.

Shobha has been survived by her husband, Bailur Raghunath Kini, a son and scores of friends and relatives.
