Dubai, Mar 6: Mohammad Orfan Mohammad Rafeeq, a cab driver discovered that a person had unwittingly left behind Dh 9,00,000 cash in his cab after he had dropped him off. He approached the Bur Dubai police station, reported the matter and handed over the cash.
Director of Bur Dubai Police Station, brigadier Abdullah Khadim Sorour, praised Rafeeq for his honesty and for handing over the large sum at the nearest police station.
Rafeeq was honoured with a certificate of appreciation to emphasise the importance of collaboration between the community and police.
Brig Sourour noted that Dubai Police is keen to strengthen the concept of community partnership and encourage a sense of individual responsibility.
Rafeeq thanked the authority for honouring him. He said that he commendation gave him great pride and joy.
