Bengaluru: Woman killed in broad daylight for not repaying debt

Bengaluru, Mar 1: In an incident which happened in broad daylight on a road here on Sunday February 28 morning, a lady was killed by slicing her throat. The murder happened within the limits of HAL police station.

The victim of the incident was Aleem Baby (32), resident of Kundalahalli. The police are now searching for the murder-accused Rafiq Sheikh. The police said that Baby and Rafiq, who were of West Bengal origin, had come here a few months back seeking to improve their living conditions. They were staying side by side in sheds located at Kundalahalli. Aeem Baby worked as domestic help while Rafiq was selling saris.

A few months back, Baby had borrowed Rs 10,000 from Sheikh but failed to return the money. A few days back, when Rafiq sought his money back, there was verbal altercation, she had hit Rafiq with her footwear. The murder reportedly happened as a vengeance.

The police have registered a case. They are now searching for the accused.
