Mangaluru, Feb 26: "Former chief minister (CM) H D Kumaraswamy is an opportunistic politician. He will get adjusted with any party. He is like a joker," said minister for environment, ecology and tourism C P Yogeshwar.

Speaking to scribes during his visit to the city on Friday February 26, Yogeshwar said, "Kumaraswamy gets adjusted with any political party. This means that he does not have any morality and ideology. When he was the CM, he acted in an arrogant manner. He is anxious now. Every day he goes to the public. When he had power, he did not do anything.

"When he does not have power, he goes to the public and sheds tears. In the assembly election of 2023, BJP is going to get majority seats in Mysuru province. Former CM Kumaraswamy knows that the JD(S) is going to get decimated in the coming assembly elections. That is why he is anxious,” he said.

Earlier, Yogeshwar laid the foundation stone for Bairadi lake development work which is undertaken by MUDA and Karnataka state environment control board and planting of plants organized by Green Tigers Mangaluru.

Addressing the gathering, he said, "There are plenty of opportunities in Mangaluru for the development of tourism including railway and water transport. The government is committed to develop Mangaluru in the model of Goa.

"A comprehensive sketch will be prepared to develop the tourism of Dakshina Kannada district in coming days. Bairadi lake is marching towards development. If the lake is alive, the environment around it will be active. Tourism department will give a grant of Rs 25 lac towards the development of this lake,” he said.
