Mangaluru, Feb 26: A talk and presentation on 'Oral Hygiene' by Dr Reshma Suvarna (pediatric dentist of Yenepoya Medical College Hospital) was organised online, by SCS Preschool, here.

Dr Suvarna dealt with the importance of oral hygiene during the early years of childhood. The talk was very informative and child-oriented.

Oral hygiene is often neglected during childhood, and this negligence results in problems like dental caries. Cavities are one of the most common chronic diseases of childhood. Untreated cavities can cause pain and infections that lead to other oral problems. These were a few highlights of the talk.

"Dr Reshma Suvarna has provided the required information on the prevention and treatment of cavities and other dental problems. This talk is the need of the hour when children are binging on junk food and we wish to extend this information to other parents as well," said the principal Vinaya D'Souza.
