Mangaluru/Udupi, Feb 8: As per the Dakshina Kannada health bulletin the district reported 40 fresh coronavirus cases on Monday raising the tally to 34,045. Out of these, 338 cases are currently active.

A total of 5,35,283 samples have been tested. Out of which 5,01,238 are negative.

As many as 18 people were discharged on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 32,967.

A total of 740 deaths have occurred so far.

Over 30,956 mask violations were reported in the Dakshina Kannada district and Rs 32,15,950 in fines have been collected by the authorities.

Udupi

The coronavirus tally in the district has risen to 23,405, including eight fresh cases on Monday. Out of these, 53 cases are currently active.

Over 3,43,634  samples have been tested so far, of which 3,20,229 have turned out negative.

As many as six patients were discharged on Monday. The total number of recoveries has climbed to 23,163.

A total of 189 deaths have occurred so far.
