Dubai: Fortune Group of Hotels organizes vaccination drive for all team members, their dependents

Media Release

Dubai, Jan 27: After months of COVID-related mayhem that has touched every aspect of the hotel industry, there is finally a bright spot in the form of vaccines being approved and rolled out in the UAE.

Fortune Group of Hotels becomes the first budget hotel chain in Dubai to get its staff members vaccinated against COVID19.

They target to vaccinate all their team members and dependents with the first dose of vaccine in January as the hotel staff are working 24/7 and are in direct contact with travelers of many countries who get their RT PCR test done at the Dubai airports and then isolate themselves till their reports arrive. Despite following all guidelines, the hotel staff is still vulnerable to transmission.

Hence, Fortune Group of Hotels (a leading budget chain in Dubai) organized a vaccination drive at the newly opened Fortune Atrium Hotel - Bur Dubai on the morning of January 26. In phase 1, around 450 staff members were given the first dose of vaccine by the DHA officials.

Praveen Shetty, (chairman of Fortune Group of Hotels) on the occasion said, “Even though me and my team leaders have already navigated a number of pandemic-related trials over the past year—from keeping employees safe and healthy, getting a jab is yet another important step in fighting the virus.

“We pledge to save lives and livelihood. It is our duty and responsibility to get a jab as vaccination is important to break the chain of COVID-19 transmission and give protection to us and safety to our valued guests."

Shetty also highlighted, “It will not only save many lives but also help accelerate economic recovery. This will be a significant boon for tourism, which has been affected by border closures, travel restrictions and social distancing measures related to Covid-19."

He specially thanked Helal Saeed Al Marri, the director-general of Dubai tourism, his team and the entire team of Dubai Health Authority for this kind and noble gesture of organizing the vaccination drive without who this would not be possible.
