London, June 15 (IANS) England goalkeeper Robert Green has split from his model girlfriend Elizabeth Minett.
Green, who apologised to the nation after his fumble spilled the ball into his own net to earn the US a 1-1 draw on Saturday night, ended the 20-month relationship with the model shortly before the World Cup.
However, Green’s agent Andy Evans insists the split has had not affected the goalie’s focus in South Africa.
"Their relationship was over many months ago. This really is not an issue and Rob has gone into the World Cup prepared mentally and as focused as possible," mirror.co.uk quoted Evans as saying.
Green was seen nursing his broken heart through golf ball. He spent quality time at Sun City golf course near Rustenburg, South Africa with the rest of the team. His partner was fellow goalie Joe Hart, 23.
