Dubai: Dh47.5 million drugs seized in Customs operation

Dubai, Dec 03: In a major customs operation over 76kg of crystal meth and hashish were seized at the Hamriya Port. Customs official said drugs were “skillfully stashed” inside an inbound container shipment. The customs had formed a task force to monitor the shipment.K9 sniffer dogs were used to trace the illegal substances.

Customs officials said “Our strong customs intelligence along with the use of advanced scanning equipment and inspection technologies have been instrumental to deterring several drug trafficking attempts.”

Dubai Customs had seized 662kg of drugs onboard at the Creek and Deira Wharfage Customs Centre in November 2020.
