Mumbai, Jun 7:
The monsoon arrived in the metro on the morning of Sunday June 6. It rained sparsely across the metro on Sunday morning for almost 10 minutes.

The Mumbaikars’ enjoyed the cool breeze and the moderate showers that brought down the soaring temperature.

Traffic across the metro was not affected as it rained only for a brief while.  The metro witnessed the harshest summer this year and an acute scarcity of drinking water.

The meteorology department forecast further rains overnight and the state-owned public utilities providers and police have geared up to take earnest measures to avoid any possible havoc.

The civic authorities also issued circulars to help citizens face the onset of the monsoon.

For some it is a relief, yet for some others, the problems have just started, specially those living in small dwellings.. Leaking roofs, damp walls, cold floors and flooded entrance.

Good releif for the Mumbaikars from the sweltering heat they have been enduring for the past few months. One tends to enjoy the first rains of the season even in the process of getting fully wet and soaked, as can be seen from the photos. Nice to see some colourful umbrellas as against the traditional black ones, a few years ago. The coconut shopkeeper has a worried look though, for, his thriving business might slow down in the monsoon season. Good photography, by the way, Rons Bantwal!
