Dubai: Second edition of Saifah Volleyball Tournament held

Dubai, Dec 21: The second edition of Saifah Volleyball Tournament SVL2020 was successfully held at Lycée Francais International Indoor Stadium on November 27.

The tournament was held for selected Indian volleyball players in various emirates. Eight franchisees took part in the tournament namely, Al Madiha Tech, Gangolli strkers, Heat Shield Shinanthoor, Concept creations, Jasba SC, Wales Gradiators, Auto Deal Moodbidri and DMSC steel.

The tournament was based on the league level. All the games were competitive. In the final game, Concept Creation team defeated Gangolli Strikers team and bagged the SVL2020 championship trophy. Electric Waves company was the main sponsor. Best Digital Advertising and M Square Engineering Consultants cooperated as co-sponsors. Necessary precautions as per the local government’s Covid-19 guidelines were followed from the beginning till the end of the tournament. The SVL2020 Volleyball Tournament by Sarfraz and his team was the first experiment in the history of volleyball in the UAE. The second year’s tournament was as successful as that of the first year.

Sports promoters Sageer, Anand P Valal, Dheeraj Bangera, Shafir, Moidin, Kedar and Sarfraz Group of Friends Ibrahim, Karani, Ruvef and Hanif under the leadership of Kundapur based popular sportsperson Sarfraz cooperated toward the success of the tournament.

Sarfraz Kundapur has provided opportunities in UAE for several volleyball players hailing from Karnataka and has become famous in volleyball in Karnataka and the gulf countries. Let us hope that the sport's service of Sarfraz continues in the future.
