Doha: New Managing Committee of ICC Meets Indian Ambassador to Qatar

Doha, May 31: The new managing committee of Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) met Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, the Indian ambassador and also the chief patron of ICC and the minister of embassy Sanjiv Kohli, who is also the chief co-ordinator of ICC, recently. The committee will serve for the term 2010-2012. 

The new managing committee was announced earlier this month. The office- bearers are led by president K M Varghese, who brings along rich experience of working in different capacities in several organizations in addition to ICC. The team has a good mix of vibrant and enthusiastic people.

Members retained from the term erstwhile are Annie Varghese (vice-president), Usha Ravishankar (joint secretary), Varghese Chacko (head Of premise), Milaan Arun (head of affiliation and membership), Mantha Srinivas (head of education), and Zainudhin Vannery (head of culture). The new members are Tarun Basu (general secretary), who has served in earlier ICC committees, Rajesh Singh Naamvar (treasurer), Jatinder Bajaj (head of Sports) and Sadish V (head of in-house activities).   

The chief patron and CCO wished the new team good luck. 

“We have several new ideas slated to promote and exhibit the rich cultural heritage of India'”, said K.M. Varghese, while announcing his team. He added that this would be possible only with the strong support of all the members and affiliated organizations of the ICC fraternity. The committee welcomes new members to ICC. The existing members are requested to participate actively in the centre's activities,” he added.
