I Am Joining DMK, says Khushboo

Chennai, May 14 (IANS) Popular southern actress Khushboo said Friday that she is all set to join Tamil Nadu's ruling DMK party.

"I had long been willing to involve myself in full-time politics," Khushboo told IANS here, and added that she would meet DMK chief and Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi later Friday.

"I will be meeting 'Kalaignar' and will be joining the DMK in his presence," the Chennai-based actor said, addressing the chief minister the way his admirers do.

"I have always had the greatest of regards for Kalaignar's leadership qualities. I am extremely happy to be aligning with the DMK," she adde

Khushboo, 40, was last month acquitted by the Supreme Court in all 22 cases pending against her in courts across Tamil Nadu for endorsing pre-marital and live-in relationships.

She started her career in the 1980s as a child artist with "Thodisi Bewafaii" and next year she did "Laawaris".

She was introduced to southern film industry by K. Raghavendra Rao's Telugu movie "Kaliyuga Pandavulu". She worked in all four southern movie industry but was more active in Tamil films.

Some of her films are "Ranadheera", "Anjada Gandu", "Shanthi Kranthi" and "Yugapurusha". After ruling the Tamil film industry in the 1990s, she tied the knot with director Sundar C who later became an actor.

Long after she fell out of favour with producers due to her age, she remained in touch with her fans, who built a temple for her here, through her hugely popular show "Jackpot" on Jaya TV.

The show has been running for more than eight years.

    You seem to have personal problem in your head or you are cursing yourself for not being in kushboo's position..not everybody works hard and is successful like kushboo.and before you comment get your facts right friend..she continues to rule t.v and doesnt do films out of choice.you sound sick..better check youeself with a good doctor.

    SHE CAN EXRESS ANYTHING SINCE SHE IS HAVING RIGHT TO EXPRESS HER VIEWS. BUT SHRI.PRAVEEN KUMAR TOGADIA HAS NO RIGHT TO EXPRESS HIS OWN VIEWS.

    MR. RAJA ( TELECOM MINISTER IN UPA)CAN DO ANYTHING. NO BODY IS HAVING A RIGHT TO COMPLAINT AGAINST HIM. BEZOZ HE IS A .....

    UPA & DMK ARE IN NEED OF EACH OTHER & ARE NOT HASITATE TO DO ANYTHING.

    It is no suprise. Kushboo is now old and almost extinct in Tamil Film Industry. More over politics in Tn is a different ball game. Almost all the actors both male and female artists are already in DMK. They are afraid of the ruling party. The same actors were making tamashas during the previous AIADMK regime when Jaya was the chief minister. They bend backwards to please Jaya and now they are doing for the present CM of TN. Hence no body takes seriously these actors, leave alone Kushboo. Only the late MGR had the guts to take on DMK and till his death DMK could never come to the corridors of power in TN. Kushboo is now a small time TV actor and no one take her seriously and even the DMK party will not attach importance to her.. It is one day media news and nothing else, and also She's good for nothing, some of the stupid foolish low grade people has made her as a god, ( also some foolish people they keep her statue in their home for pray to her )for this Khushboo & politics? no way!! they are the vote bank of some of the foolish cinema fans, this cinema people spoiled entering politics, but the political parties they still keep on buying the cinema people for gain their fans vote, may be she has offered some Crore's from DMK, after all cinema people entered in politics sometime you can see in the TV news in parliament/rajbhavan people act like a animals where there is no discipline and culture, in any sense she has done anything good for the State or that foolish fans of her
