Court awards three years jail for stealing car key from Dubai villa

Dubai, Nov 15: A Dubai court has sentenced three Pakistani men, three years in jail for breaking into a merchant’s villa, knocking down driver and guard and managing to steal only the key to a luxury car and escape.

The theft happened in March this year. The thieves threatened and assaulted 70-year-old Yemini guard 52-year-old Indian driver.

The duo were arrested in short span of time by Dubai police. The thieves said they had prior information that the villa owner was a merchant and keep his money inside the villa. They were charged with stealing a car key at night and assaulting the two victims.

The trio will serve 3 years in jail and then will be deported. The trio can appeal within 15 days against the verdict.
