Vasai Konkani Welfare Association organizes Career Guidance Seminar

Mumbai, May 3:
Vasai Konkani Welfare Association celebrated its first anniversary by organizing a career guidance seminar for the students at St Gonsalo Garcia Church, New Barampur, Vasai (West) here on Saturday May 1. 
 
Fr Andrew Rodrigues, vicar general inaugurated the seminar by opening an education fund of the association.

Association secretary Ancy Paladka informed that the association will award scholarship to the needy Konkani speaking students of Vasai taluk. The committee members made their first contribution towards the fund and all the participants also contributed their mite on the occasion.
 
Fr Valentine Pawkar, parish priest of Gonsalo Garcia parish was honoured during the programme. Former national youth director Fr Joel D'Cunha said that the Mangaloreans have organizations all over the world and they are committed for the betterment of their community.
 
Albert W D’Souza, chairman of Aldel Education Trust offered the career guidance to students.
 
Former IAS and IPS officer Steven Lawrence D’Souza spoke on the competitive examinations and getting to administrative services.
 
Dr Savita Tauro, principal of St John College of Pharmacy and Research and Dr Satish Takalikar, principal of St John College of Engineering and Technology too spoke on various career and job opportunities. A complete career planner, career tree and course materials were provided to the participants.
 
Association president Steven Fernandes was present on the dais.
 
Ancy Paladka compered the programme. Joint treasurer Aveline Pinto proposed the vote of thanks.
