Mangalore, Apr 23: A mock drill to nab terrorists jointly organized by intelligence and coastguards was held at the KMC Hospital, Ambedkar circle near Jyothi Talkies here on Thursday April 22. The drill was part of operations that began on Wednesday April 21 following intelligence reports of a likely terrorist infiltration into coastal districts.








The drill demonstrated how a terrorist who places a bomb near parking area of the hospital could be nabbed. The personnel involved showcased how a security guard on noticing placement of bomb by a terrorist immediately catches hold of him and informs police, fire and other departments concerned. Soon fire personnel followed by police arrive and nab the terrorist after which the bomb disposal squad pull in and diffuses the bomb.  

The drill was performed to test the preparedness o various departments concerned during emergency. Coastguards conducted such mock operations near Indian Oil Corpration terminal at Panambur here and Murdeshwar in Udupi district.
