Mangalore, Apr 20: Brahma Kumari Shivani presented a spiritual discourse as part of the World Welfare Festival organized by the city branch of Prajapitha Brahma Kumari Iswariya Vishwa Vidyalaya at the Town Hall on Tuesday April 20.

Many Brahma Kumaris and followers participated in the spiritual discourse by Shivani, who is a popular meditation and management trainer and is also known for her religious presentation on Astha television channel.

The spiritual fair was inaugurated by Shivani. Popular singer Puttur Narasimha Nayak presented ‘Jnana Gaana Sudha’, a number of devotional songs, along with his team members. An exhibition of spiritual photographs and art was also arranged at the Town Hall premises.

The festival will conclude on Sunday April 25 with the participation of Dadi Jankiji, chief of Brahma Kumaris, at TMA Pai Convention Hall in the city.

Live music, cultural performances, fusion mass meditation and blessings programmes will be part of the five-day festival.

The Brahma Kumari spirituality and way of proceeding is doing a lot of good in different parts of the world. The sisters and brothers practice and preach simple things in a very beautiful way. The inter-faith prayer and meditations, spiritual readings, shramadhan, health care camps, Brahmabhojan and the weekly prasad sharing are lovely activities of holistic well being and celebrations of life.

I enjoy the privilege of participating in such events in Alto Porvorim, Panjim, Margao, Bicholim, Mapusa, Vasco, Pedne, Kankon, Belgaum, Pondicherry, Chennai, Mount Abu, Pune, Nagpur, Wardha, Delhi, Varanasi and in other parts of the country. They are doing a beautiful work and asssiting many in their search for spiritual enrichment.

It's worth visiting the Brahma Kumari HQ in Mount Abu where they have a state-of-the-art Health Research Centre and hospital, prayer halls, community kitchens and thousands of well wishers, visitors and seekers of knowledge who like to cultivate inner life of prayer-led action.

The poor and rich, educated and uneducated, locals and foreigners from every continent and country have something good to say about our Brahmakumaris and Brahmakumars who have selflessly dedicated their precious lives in the service of humanity through their Constructive Programs for the all round upliftment of Society.

In these post modern times of globalization, ecumenical thinking and multicultural living, we need to encourage and appreciate new ways around us.

Bulsam, thank God we have these spiritual people still spreading good messages (although people like Nityananda manipulate sincere followers), at least our younger generation will know the values of their religion and stop falling into the hands of conversions like those happened during the last 500 years. I hope you got the message.

It is better if young people keep away from Brahma Kumaris. It is good for only OLD. If young man joins Brahma Kumari, then he will become Sanyasi and ignore his family. They only talk about Shiva..shiva ...shiva . It happened in our family . So be careful. Ole people get SHANTI there. No doubt about that.

    Mr Bulsam,

True message of any religion discoursed, imparted shall bridge the gap and act as bonding gel between different faiths. All religions preach good things only and ask its followers to abstain from wrong doings. Unfortunate is that, the so called religious heads (of any religion, basically muslims and hindus) misquote, misrepresent and twist the teachings and quote form the books out of context to breed and spread hatred. The advancement of technology like internet and emails have surely helped in spreading the false messages and hate. Only quality and good education, employment of all may refine our society with an a sincere approach to the true understandings of religious books. The politicians are exploiting the situation to get mileage. Of late it was known that the recent communual riots in Hyderabad are neither created by hindus nor by muslims, but by the political outfits as Mr Rossaiah ordered a fair investigation into the incident. I wish good luck to all those who work in the interest of our society and pray God to help them.

Suddenly the spiritual organisations of a particular religion are pouring into Mangalore. There is early morning Yoga of Ramdev’s team, Sadhguru's inner engineering by Isha Foundation to Prajapitha Brahma Kumari Iswariya Vishwa Vidyalaya's meditation & management training by Shivanis are all happening at different places in Mangalore.
Hope the followers become good & tolerant human being and devoid of attacking Churches/Mosques, stop wounding & killing Muslim/Christian priests, stop giving organised hate speeches in open maidans in the name of venerating gods, avoid arresting innocent minority communities’ enmass etc.

Its really good to see Mangalore in the news for a very good reason. I salute the organisers and Brahmakumaris. We have lot of things to give it to the world. First and foremost we need to give our secular credentials to the world and to the rest of India.

We hindus, muslims, christians, sikhs, etc etc have been living like one families for centuries and we would love to remain so forever. I call upon clergies from rest of religions, seers to support the Brahmakumaris in this good cause. Wrolds welfare is our welfare. Good luck to all.

Fellow Mangalorians, wake up before its too late..these days many of these gurus, spirituals leaders come to our city..At the beginning all is well slowly these people start small organization, small school, ashram, then big colleges and campuses..all are money making machines..

Do we have to seek peace this way..We are blessed Mangalorians and these days outside influences sweeping in and taking away our peace, harmony.unity and our money..This is my point..its up to individual how he or she responds

It is amazing to read that Mangalore has taken the privilege to initiate the World Welfare Festival under the leadership of Brahma Kumari Shivani. The spiritual gathering added with mass meditation and blessings is something great to learn that Mangalore has come forward to present a gathering for the benefit of world welfare. It would have been nice to hear more about the background of Brahma Kumari Shivani and all her dedication of the past for the welfare of the world. This is the first of its kind we are hearing about Brahma Kumari Shivani. When so much is going on all over the world with volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, climatic changes etc., it is soothening to feel that Mangalore has so much to offer to the world of peace and harmony. This is one way to include Mangalore in the world map of events surrounding "Shanti" Best of luck to all those that have organized the five day festival and Qudha Afeiz.
