Dubai: Tulu Telefilm 'Jokulatike' on Big Screen

Dubai, Apr 13: ‘Jokulatike’, the first ever Tulu telefilm, to be presented by Jyothish Shetty in association with UAE Tulukoota, Dubai, an event which the people here have been eagerly waiting for, is ready to invade the hearts of the Tuluvas in UAE on Friday April 16, 2010 at 4.00 pm at Elite English Speaking School, near Century Mall, Abu Hail, Deira, Dubai.
‘Jokulatike’ has already created a record by winning over the hearts of the Tulu drama lovers in and around Mangalore and Udupi. Its bone-tickling humour has forced the audience to fall off their seats. Some of the audience even opted to take a break in between the show. “Laughter therapy is good for health, as everyone knows. But, ‘Jokulatike’ is much more than that, because its humour continues to linger in the minds of the audience for days after the show. Don’t be surprised if they laugh aloud, all by themselves, as they recall some of the scenes in the play,” advises producer, Jyothish Shetty. He even challenged that the most grumpy-faced ones and those in grim moods cannot escape from having a hearty laughter while watching ‘Jokulatike’.
C R Shetty, convener of UAE Tulukoota, Dubai, has this to say, “This is a rare opportunity for all the Tuluvas residing in the UAE. They should not miss this one-a-lifetime experience.” He also said the Tuluvas here have a moral obligation to support and encourage the Tulu artistes, a small contribution from them to preserve Tulu language, culture and heritage and to pass it on to the future generation.
