Tiger Woods Commercial With Dead Father Causes Controversy

Augusta (Georgia), Apr 10 (DPA): Tiger Woods could probably use all the friends he can get right now, but using his late father Earl may be a step too far.

In the build-up to the US Masters, Earl Woods has been used in a Nike commercial that features Woods looking at the screen and listening to the voice of his late father.

The commercial, which ends with the image of the famous Nike swoosh, has caused consternation, with many feeling it is in bad taste, not least in the light of the sex scandal that has swarmed Tiger Woods.

The world No 1 has been out for the past five months after admitting to a series of extra-marital affairs, prompting him to seek treatment for sex addiction.

Woods teed off in the penultimate group of players in the first round of the Masters at Augusta.
