Dear Oscar Fernandes, Dr. Mohan Alva, I take this oportunity to say Welldone.. We are proud of you both. Do always good to people.. selfishness will only leads to troubles later and disapointment.
God has given you both more responsiblity than others.. So whatever you do.. just remember Jesus always watching us.
Jesus, our Lord and Master, has said,

"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow they neither toil nor spin and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow.
    GOD BLESS U

Do you know Mangalore University gave Oscar honarary doctorate in which category?

Social Service, my problem with it is politicians getting doctorate in Social Service category.

Why Oscar and mangalore, just after few days of becoming CM of Karnataka Mr Yedityurappa also got a doctorate(Social service???) from a silly University from Chicago, its funny he came to receive it....

I think Politicians should be kept away from these awards. I am not very sure why Oscar should be choosen - maybe Mangalore University should justify so that it could clear the cloud. It seems to be political to me.

Langoolacharya, where are you in USA? Every US president received several Honorary Degrees from universities for their service to mankind. What's wrong in that?

No politician of any party should be given honorary doctorates.

If you give one, others will be after it.

Tomorrow Sampangi may claim doctorate for "Cooking a Snook" with Lokayukta using privilage comittee of legislative assembly.

Doctorates already given to active politician should be withdrawn or asked to retite from active politics.

If there are any "exceptionally good politicians" they may be given honorary doctorate after they retire!!!

This is disgusting to see, politicians getting doctorates....
