Mangalore, Apr 2: The faithful from all the parishes in the region, well aware of the sanctity of Good Friday, headed for the churches after getting up on Friday April 2. Beginning early morning, Way of the Cross and Adoration of the Eucharist were held in all the churches.

The first steps began at 8 am and continued for about an hour. The faithful had gathered in large numbers. They took the first steps to the way that leads to undying life. Every station they carried the cross with deep reflection on how to follow the way in silence and deep rapture. "Shed the weight of material and consumerist life and hold on to Gospel values which only can offer what you aspire from deep within - harmonious living and eternal bliss."

It was inspiring to see them carry the message and go back to their families and to begin the Stations of the Cross in their daily rut of life.

During this season of prayer, fasting and penance, let us follow the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ who during His most agonising moments on Cross pleaded with Heavenly Father to forgive those who crucified Him. Let us prove that we are His true followers by forgiving those who have hurt Christian's sentiments in various ways, especially in Orissa and in Mangalore.

The offer of prayers all-together, father mother and children with brethren praying in one accord worshiping and praising in the fasting is a most benevolent acts of believers in remembrance of our Lord's sacrifice on the cross. I quote Matthew 18: 20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. REJOICE OH CHILDREN OF GOD THAT WE ARE SAVED THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST. I quote John 1: 29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. Amen.
