Dubai, Mar 31: An audience of nearly 250 persons was treated to an enlightening experience of devotion and spiritual journey for five days, beginning from March 22, 2010.  Dr Pavan Bhat delivered discourses on ‘Sundara Kaanda’ a chapter from ‘Valmiki Ramayana’, on all these five days, giving ample evidence of his talent, in-depth knowledge, oratory and story-telling skills.

Dr Pavan Bhat, who hails from Hubli in Karnataka, is a religious scholar who has done his Master of Arts in Sanskrit and a PhD from the Karnatak University, Dharwad. He was groomed under Pandit Pandharinath Acharya Galagali, and apart from performing ‘Hari Keertans’ and ‘Pravachans (discourses)’ at various places across India, he has also conducted more than 50 ‘Bhagvat Saptahs’ so far.

The audience had a great experience listening to the discourses, which in a way, acted as stress busters for them. Ram Navami, the birth anniversary of Lord Rama, happened to fall on March 24 this year, in the midst of the discourse. This festival was celebrated with great fervour.

This event was organized by P S Kamath, chairman of Solas Group Of Companies. His family was there to welcome everyone who attended this five-day event. At the end of the event on March 26, P S Kamath and his son, Prashant Kamath, felicitated Dr Pavan Bhat by presenting him with a commendation letter, describing the scholar as ‘Keertan Samraat’. In tune with the traditional way of honoring, they also presented him with a shawl, fruit basket and a garland.

On this occasion, P S Kamath also honoured Vishwanath Bhat, Manoj Acharya, Anilesh and Shankar Krishnan for providing musical accompaniment during the discourse. Dr Pavan Bhat blessed all the attendees in general, and Anand Shanbag, Keshav Mallya and Giridhar Nayak, who had worked tirelessly to make this event a grand success, in particular.

Preeti Kamath, who proposed vote of thanks, specifically thanked all the members of Narayan Seva Samiti and Ganesh Rai for their contributions in making the event a grand success. At the end of every day, the attendees were treated to a sumptuous dinner by Swadist Restaurant.
