Nithyananda Resigns as Dhyanapeetam Head

Bangalore, Mar 30 (DHNS): After failing to get relief from the Karnataka High Court and seeing all roads closed, disgraced self-styled godman Nithyananda on Monday resigned as the head of Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam and from all trusts associated with his cult organisation.

Nithyananda’s departure comes nearly a month after a Tamil TV news channel broadcast secretly filmed videos of the godman having sex with a Tamil actress.

In the course of the past month, intense media pressure, including Deccan Herald, leading English Daily’s investigative reports on how Nithyananda may have forged his birth documents, his supposed education in a Vellore polytechnic college as well as his land holdings, contributed significantly to his decision to step down as head of a cult organisation, headquartered at Bidadi near here.

In a statement released on his organisation website, Nithyananda said: “I have decided to live a life of spiritual seclusion, for some indefinite time, to which the acharyas have agreed in principle.”

The godman appears to have taken this decision after the Karnataka High Court refused to close the police investigations based on criminal cases filed against him at Bidadi police station.

In his statement, Nithyananda says that a board of trustees consisting of sadhakas of Dhyanapeetam “who non-controversial will henceforth manage” the organisation.

He said that he has “requested” the acharyas to “help the newly-constituted trust reorient the activities of Dhyanapeetam increasingly to undertake spiritually oriented service activities and to guide the trustees”.

Significantly, the trust that was at supposedly at the helm of affairs comprised only three persons - Nithyananda, his trusted secretary Swami Nithya Sadhananda, alias T Dhanasekaran, who has also gone into hiding, and Sadhananda’s wife Jamuna. The 22 acres of land over which the Bidadi ashram is built is solely in the name of Nithyananda and not the trust.

Nithyananda claims in his statement that he arrived at his decision following discussions and after seeking counsel from “leading acharayas of Hindus Dharma at Hardwar”. This claim is not supported by any evidence for he was not even allowed to enter the Mahakumbh Mela premises by the Hindu saints assembled there earlier this month.

      Dear anamika,
Enlightening message! all the religion have culprit/Dongi Sawmi’s, Baba’s, Mulla’s & padri's who is thirst for Wealth and Sex. Do not forget there is god fearing and selfless Sawmi’s, Baba’s….. Communist rule will not be the solution for this. We have to believe the supernatural power, who created this wonderful world and human being (who can think and act)..

Need to educate the public (even in the school) about the nature and activities of GODMANS. Government should not support these culprits for their vote bank…..

The Government should seize the bank accounts and properties of this Organization. The whole Trust should be closed for their illgal activities and for cheating the devotees. These seized properties should be auctioned or converted in to School or Park/play ground for the children.
Now the time has come to install hidden cameras in Churches,Ashrams, Mosques & Temples to check illegal activities and to catch vandalizers.

We must need communist rule in India to eliminate all country Babas, Swamis, Mullas, etc.. These country fellows sucking the blood of poor and ignorant. It's really funny that even after such revelation, there are still some brainless fellows among us to blindly follow these dongi babas. I don't know why these grown up guys want to surrender themselves to these day robbers. As long as brain dead people are among us, such Dongi Avathara will take place continuously.

Periodical incidents proved that not a single swami or babas have any supernatural powers to ease the sufferings of the poors. Let it be Sai baba or Ravishankar baba, Masthan Baba or any other baba who ever it may be, they themselves living under the cover of heavily armed personal security guards. Really the Baba or Swami business is a new thriving business for all you need knowledge of Yoga and Hypnotism.

Dear Shanawaz  If you had followed the television properly Pejawar shri had condemmed Nityananda's act the in a talk show very next day in TV9.   Mr Charles D,Mello, Litreally govt cannot arrest Nityananda as there is no FIR lodged against him in karnataka for anything. His mask has been exposed by a hidden camera kept by someone else. Sex (not rape) with a major is not a crime in India be it in a wedlock. Nityananda just murdered the trust of his devotees which cannot be booked as a crime. He is already suffering for what he has done for not able to come to public in future and go hiding throughout his life.

Though this Nitya-Ananda Swami resigned from the position what guarantee the guy who takes over it will not decieve the poor blind followers. The permanent solution is to freez all the assets belongs to the said ashram & put it on auction under the guidance of the court of law.Or the ashram can be used as an public health care center. As somebody stated why this Gowda family is silent on the issue of their constituency..It looks they are the share holders in this project too.Govt should close all the activities of the said ashram.

The crook obviously has a bunch of legal folks guiding him apart from powerful politicians sheltering him. No wonder he will continue hiding (while seeking advice of unknown Acharyas, probably smoking pot with the Naga sages) until the public forgets all about it. After all this billionaire Thambi was not the first with such adventures, while making a huge fortune too.

The latest move is aimed at preventing financial loss due to the suits filed in the US, with his American disciples like Douglas McKellor, feeling betrayed. One wonders as to why on earth did this Douglas stay silent when the Swami was partying in the strip tease joints of LA and Las Vegas in jeans and t-shirts.

Meanwhile, it is rather strange to note the pin silence of Kumaraswamy and the Gowda clan, who were followers of this pseudo Thambi in their constituency. Equally interesting is the silence and low profile from Sai Baba and Sri Sri Ravi.

Wow look @ his new dress!!!!! from saffron to SHWETAMBARA!!!!What is in his mind?.Where is the question of resignation???Did he accept what he have done to public???Who advised him to resign???This is his second episode(resignation) as public up in the arms to take face to face.He scared to public outcry and fooling once again!!!!

If he is frank he should ask apology of his devotees first and then public as a whole. He took several weeks to come to an fooling idea of resigning. He know law will not touch him and some are how he have the means and influence to overcome from the law point of view.He have certainly someting in mind that's why his lawyers may advised him this kind of drama. He should be punished as per merit of his crime and Ashram should be taken over by the govt.

Strange coincidence but celibacy is the point in question not only for nithyananda but also the vatican. The current pope in his previous post had too much of paperwork at his desk and hence ignored abuse of deaf kids in the US.
Nithyananda for his part better accept that he has lost "Indriyanigraha" and accept Grihastashrama rather than be a living example of a hypocrit. That will ofcourse not undo all his past deeds as a spiritual guru but could still make him come out of his state of denial.

Nice decision by Nithyananda, this the decision u should have taken much before, any way it is not late instead of waiting for legal decision. Now some of the comentors who appriciate middle east rule may have some relief,I repeat Indian law is not weak, many of the cases due lack of evidence criminals are escaping. It is a democracy nobody can help.Mr.Nityananda kindly accept family life,it is the best way for you, again do not try to cheat the inocent people.Globe is round.

Religion and justice should not be mixed up. Law of the land should take its own course and if found guilty, this Dogman should be punished. Media should expose such spiritual masked kaam pishachis and innocent devotees should be protected. Why Pejawar shree is not opening his mouth on this issue??????
