Dubai : 'Gulf Kannada Convention' Logo Launched

Dubai, Mar 29: Dhwani Prathistana is gearing up for its silver jubilee celebration to be held at Gems Private School on the 23rd of April, 2010.  This will be a grand celebration including Gulf Literary Convention with the support of various associations of Karnataka in the UAE.

On Friday, 26th March, 2010 at around 6 PM at Jacky’s Restaurant Al Ghusais, leaders of various associations were invited for the launching of the Logo for the said silver jubilee celebration.  Prakash Rao Payyar, President of Dhwani Prathistana briefed about the programme and Ex-President of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, B.K. Ganesh Rai who is an multi talented artist by himself explained about the logo he has designed for the function.





















The bottom layer symbolizes the golden sand of the Emirates on which a open book of knowledge is placed which spreads the vision, over it is the flame of light with the colours of Karnataka Flag and to the left is the exhaust tower which might be seen in the old Arabic house architectural buildings, to the right is Dhwani’s original logo of ‘shanka’ blowing out the sound of launching and the rhythmic waves of blue moving and spreading out the peace message to the universe.  The script with special font with the message of Kannada Sahithya Sammelana is truly designed for the silver jubilee celebration according to the architect Ganesh Rai.

The programme started with a prayer song by Niveditha Arvind and was conducted by the General Secretary of Dhwani Prathistana Madhusudhan.

Prakash Rao Payyar briefed about the next month’s programme with the time schedules and requested the invitees to support him in the programme by giving their views towards grand success.  A brief discussion took place wherein some of the attendees gave good suggestions during the meeting.  Payyar thanked all of them and asked the leaders of various associations of Karnataka to whole heartedly contribute towards the success of the programme.  Along with President Payyar, Sarvotham Shetty, President of Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha, Jayaram Somayaji, Treasurer Anand Bailoor & Secretary Madhusudhan were on the dais.  Sarvotham Shetty inaugurated the logo launch. 

Other leaders present were Noel D Almeida President of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Mohan Attavar, President of Billawas Dubai & N.E. along with Satish Poojary, B.G. Mohandas Ex-President of Karnataka Sangha Dubai and CEO of Gulf Kannadiga, Santosh Nazareth President of Mangalore Konkans along with Ex-President James Mendonza, Manohar Tonse, President of Abu Dhabi Billawara Balaga and Managing Committee Member of Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha, Gopinath Rao of Kannada Dhwani, Arshad Hussain of Sahil Online, Arun Muthukadoor of Kannada Koota, Eeranna Moolimani, Mallikarjuna, Veerendra and others were present.  There were few ladies who attended including Shrilatha Hegde, Niveditha and Nalini Somayaji who also spoke on behalf of the ladies.

Arthur Pereira concluded the programme with vote of thanks.
