Mangalore, Mar 28: “Western Institute of Technology (WIT), located at Kadri Hills in the city, will organize the biggest ever job fair and career guidance programme in the state on Friday April 23 and Saturday April 24. It will see the participation of experts and eminent personalities from various industries and universities at TMA Pai Convention Hall in M G Road in the city”, said Walter Stephan Mendes, president, Western Institute of Technology, on Saturday March 27.  

Speaking at a press meet here at Press Club, he said that the event named ‘Western 361degree’  will open career avenues for job aspirants and career guidance for students of the states of Karnataka and Kerala for pursuing further studies in India and abroad. “About 100 companies with 5,000 recruitment requirements are expected to participate in this fair”, he added. 



“Recruitment will take place in all streams such as IT, BPO, hotel and hospitality, nursing, medical, safety, accounting, engineering, management, computer, animation, HR, finance and law”, said Mendes adding that around 20,000 candidates are expected to participate in this mega event which will be organized at a cost of Rs 20 lac and the event will be managed by India’s leading and largest event management company, Wizcraft, which has 2,500 events under its belt. 

“The Western Institute of Technology is also pleased to organize career guidance and personality development programmes on both days of the job fair at the venue between 9 am to 1 pm for PUC students and from 1 pm to 7 pm for graduate and post graduate students. The programme will enable them to critically analyze their limits and abilities and lay a foundation for the future”, he added.  

“We have already received 8,000 resumes to date from various streams and WIT will offer training for 100 students in job-oriented courses for the participants of the job fair”, said Mendes.  

“ ‘361 degree’ is not restricted to being a job fair, to counseling and career guidance but it is also advantageous for students to interact with industry experts on career options and guidance.
