Mangalore, Mar 28: A special day in the history of air transport system of coastal district was marked by the introduction of direct flight by Air India to Delhi from city at the Bajpe airport on Sunday March 28.

The new flight service, an Air India Canadian Registered Jet (CRJ)- 700 series flight was flagged off by MLA K Abhayachandra Jain and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel in presence of airport director Abraham Peter.

The aircraft (IC 7613) left from Delhi at 5.15 am and arrived at Bajpe airport at 8.35 am. The 74-seater aircraft is a fastest jet flying in India and provides noiseless experience through the journey, informed Nagesh Shetty, area marketing manager of Air India.

Why all praises to Yediyurappa and his team for the developments in Karnataka? Ok, i praise them on the introduction of volvo busses but not on the Mangalore Delhi flights as the Air India or the Indian Airlines is managed by the central government.THANK YOU MR. MANMOHAN SINGH,MR.PRAFULL PATEL AND NOT TO FORGET MRS. SONIA GANDHI,who wants all the villages, towns and cities to be connected.JAI HIND

Can you please explain me how this is the gift of congress???

We are spending the money for ticket and not congress so how can u term this has gift from sonia gandhi and PM.

FYI: The flight destination is decided by the airlines which is directly related to the number of passengers going to that destination and then a memorandum is sent to civil aviation ministry to grant permission to operate flight between destinations. How is sonia Gandhi responsilbe for this?

We should thank Air India for seeing the potential in Mangalore..

"Well done CM Yediurappa. State is expanding under your Government". I was expecting these kind of remarks but nobody commented.
The reality is India is progressing under the able leadership of Dr Manmohan Singh and I am sure not just Mangalore, every airport in the country would have direct flights to the capital in the future.
