Mangalore: Marriage Encounter Programme Held Under Fr Santosh Kamath’s Guidance

Mangalore, Mar 14: The marriage encounter programme, being conducted annually since the last ten years by Fr Ravi Santosh Kamath SJ, was organized at Catholic Centre, Hampankatta here between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm on Saturday March 13.

The programme, being conducted to provide an opportunity to the prospective brides and bridegrooms to find ideal life partners for themselves, has been hugely popular among the local Catholics. Boys and girls hailing from the city and surrounding parishes actively participated in the programme. Several bachelors and spinsters had also come from far off places like Bangalore, Mumbai and Chennai, with the hope of finding suitable matches here.

 

Because of the said programme, over a hundred alliances could be finalized.

The programme, being conducted with the objective of social service, does not entail payment of any fee or charges. It is free of cost, and is being organized by the Sodality of the Immaculate Conception.

    Getting people together is indeed a noble task which Father Santosh has undertaken successfully for the past ten years. Through his caring services several persons have found their life's partners.

    I understand that different categories of people were present at the meeting held on 14TH. March 2010- like well educated degree holders and some post graduates too. Along with these there were also domestic workers and others.

    In order to ensure suitability of matches it was suggested at The meeting of The Sodality of Immaculate Conception that in future there would separate sessions for different people so that they are able to meet their appropriate type. This would be a step in the right direction.

    I join several others in saying Kudos to Father Santhosh.
