Udupi, Mar 12: Police of the District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) on Friday March 12, in a major breakthrough exposed the conspiracy of Dr Suresh Prabhu, a native of Hebri and serving as an associate Professor at Hassan Medical College, into murdering his wife Bhagirathi during January this year.

Dr Suresh had lodged a complaint with the DCIB that his wife Bhagirathi had died due to a snake bite at Hebri.  She was taken to a private nursing home at Hebri in an unconscious state and was later shifted to the District Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, the brother of Bhagirathi suspected foul play into the death, which led the police to pursue the case further.  The police in a major breakthrough nabbed five persons involved in the conspiracy of murdering Bhagirathi whose death was believed to be due to a snake bite.

The arrested have been identified as Harish, Hassan Medical College driver, Niranjanraj Urs, Paramesh, final LLB student, Basavaraj, truck driver, and Manjunath, Hassan Medical College forensic medicine laboratory clerk.

On further interrogation by the police, Dr Suresh Prabhu revealed that he had forcibly injected his wife Bhagirathi with cobra venom which he has acquired from a local charmer, when they were travelling in a car to Hebri.  He also admitted to misleading the police in his complaint and also the medics at the private clinic in Hebri and later at the district hospital.

DCIB sub inspector Ganesh Hegde, assistant sub inspector Thimappa Gowda, police personnel Ratnakar, Narayan, Uday Kunder, Dinesh Shetty, Nagaraj, Manohar Udyavar, Mahabala Shetty, Damodar, Vaman, Satish Ballal, Ranjan and Abdul Khader, were engaged in the investigations which was directed by Superintendent of Police (SP) Pravin Madhukar Pawar.

There are two types of doctors, life saving doctors and life taking doctors, in other words God’s angels and Satan’s angels. Some parents force their children into medical profession with the help of money power, when they know that their child is not capable of it. Such parents are liable for these kinds of scientific experiments and see that the life of their son ends up in jail in their old age. All the parents are over ambitious and expect their child to be on top no matter what.

Parents should realize that medical is a sanctified profession and not everyone’s cup of tea. Therefore evaluate child’s ability and encourage him/her accordingly without the help of money or political power.

Thieves & enemies within the house are more dangerous than from outsiders. The execution of murders taking place within the 4 walls of AC room by the professionals are much dangerous than the common man.
Definitely in this case, the wives family might have doubt about the behavior of the doctor and we should appreciate the stand taken by the brother of Bhagirathi.
Hats off the team of Police of the District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB). Your team really requires to be saluted. Well done and keep your good work. We are proud of you.

If the police department is free from political influence and interference, they can do a very good work and justice. Good work. The doctor must be punished. Dont blame the police for their incompetence and faliures, lets blame the political system.

Congratulations for solving this tricky case. I know that a Police department is capable of solving any cases because they have all resources like the plain cloth men, informers, intelligentsia etc. But when a politician murders some one in their family they can't solve that case. why?

BREAK THROUGH: I SALUTE THE POLICE. We most of the time think the police are not working. It is difficult to them to investigate and pin the culprit for that it is confusing. But it is great that did. I SALUTE THEM. It is a indication to all the criminal that the police are working. No one should dare the act such as this. God Bless Police Force.
