Mangalore: Grand Dharma Nemotsava Held at Moodushedde Guttu

Mangalore, Mar 7: The dharma nemotsava and kola bali utsava of Shedde Guttu and Nonal Families were held at Moodushedde Guttu House from Wednesday March 3 to Saturday March 6.

The festivities commenced with Ugrana puja on Wednesday. Ganayaga, Nagatambila and Ashlesha bali were conducted on Thursday.

The most awaited day was Friday March 5, which saw flurry of programmes right from morning. At 7.30 am the bandara was brought from Bandara Mane and Botti Keremane. Later a golden tongue (Bangarada Nalage) was dedicated to dharma daiva Jarandaya on behalf of Shedde Guttu and Nonal Families. This was followed by kalashabisheka of Arasu Guddardaru and dharma daivas.





























At 11.30 am, Maisandaya Nema and Palla puja were held. After Maha Annasantarpane in the afternoon, the eminent yakshagana artists of the district performed talamaddale, ‘Karna Parva’. 

Stage programme was organized in the evening. It began with the tremendous classical dance performance by Dr Sheena Krishnan Payyanur. Sharan Shetty of Hosalakke enthralled the audience with the melodious devotional song. 

Sri Rajashekarananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Mutt, Gurupur blessed the occasion. Zilla panchayat president Santhosh Kumar Bhandary presided. Alva’s Education Foundation Moodbidri chairman Dr M Mohan Alva, Coastal Development Authority chairman B Nagaraj Shetty, Bantwal MLA Ramanath Rai, Mulki MLA K Abhayachandra Jain, and Jagatika Bantara Sangha Okkuta president Ajit Kumar Rai Maladi were the chief guests. Expressing their own views of dharma nema the guests lauded Shedde Guttu and Nonal Families for organizing such a programme that reflects region's old traditions and customs. 

Nonal Jeevraj Bhandary compered the programme. Dr Shreelatha Shetty of Vishwa Vaidya Ayurvedashram welcomed the gathering. Shedde Guttu Bhaskar Arasa proposed the vote of thanks.

From 7 pm onwards nema of Jarandaya, Kantheri, Dhoomavathi, Banta and Babbarya Daivas was held.

On the final day the Kola Bali Utsava of Kallutti, Kalkuda and Panjurli daivas were held under the leadership of Ramachandra Udupa of Vishnumurthy temple.

The nemotsava was organized under the able leadership of Venugoapal Arasa, head of Shedde Guttu family. It was one of the biggest events held in Shedde Guttu so far. As many as 5,000 devotees gathered on the occasion.

    I remembered, me watching dharmanema about 4o years back at moorkaje near vitla.Sitting infront of my system I enjoyed the photos published by you. PLEASE CONTINUE TO PUBLISH THIS TYPE of religious programes so that we can enjoy
