To the best of my knowledge no one deserves any honour more that Santhosh Hegde and Sudha Murthy. Both of them in their different fields are doing commendable jobs. Santhosh Hegde no doubt has inherited a great name from his illustrious Father who I had the pleasure of meeting in Delhi several decades ago at a function hosted by a common friend. Justice Hegde has made a name for himself not only as an honest person but as a bold and straightforward Lokayukta Chief even when dealing with great names and personalities.

Madam Sudha Morthy is indeed a person of name and fame. She is not resting on her laurals but striving hard to render help to the needy.

I join scores of friends and relatives in saying Kudos to these two persons who have brought honour to their respective families and to the Country.

Conferring doctorate on eminent personalities Hegde and Murty is a matter honor for the conferrer rather than the recipient. But when the same title conferred on some undeserving (and they outnumber deserving in our country) persons, it becomes a lampoon of the system.
