Dubai: 'Gulf Voice of Mangalore' - The Talent Hunt Show Set to Roll On

Dubai, Feb 28: The most-awaited talent hunt show in the middle east, Gulf Voice of Mangalore which had created sensation in 2008 is back again all set to entertain the huge music crazy audience of gulf, and budding singing talents around.

Vinay Lewis was the champion in the year 2008 by winning coveted title also pocketing Rs 1 lac cash prize and accolades from all over the world. The maiden event was initiated by Lawrence Pinto and Loius Rodrigues of Kuwait.

The specialty of the GVM -2010 is that there will be two champions this year each from Male and Female category, unlike last time wherein male and female singers fought for the coveted title.

Also Saudi Arabia will be the new induction to the participating countries that includes UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Muscat. A cash prize of Rs 1 lac each will be awarded to the winners along with enormous publicity and opportunity to them after the event.

Preliminary rounds will be organized by Karavali Konkans Association (Bahrain), Youth Recreation Centre (Kuwait), Mangalorean Catholic Center of the Parish (Muscat), Mangalorean Cultural Association (Doha), Aangan Konkneche (Riyadh-Saudi Arabia), Mangalore Konkans Dubai, in the coming months.

The dates and venue will be announced well in advance, on Daijiworld.com, exclusive media partner for the event. 

The selection process will be the same as last time and the competition will have panel of three judges especially flown-in from Mangalore along with the master of ceremony Leslie Rego to all the semifinal events.  

Mangalore Konkans Dubai will hold preliminary rounds for the selection of semi-finalist on April 30, 2010. Online entry forms will be made available on Daijiworld in couple of days.

The semifinals of second edition will start somewhere at the end of September 2010 and will run till the October 22. The tentative dates are from Thursday September 30 till Friday October 22. 


Valerian Peris - Chief Co-ordinator

The responsibility of organization and co-ordination of the show has now being shoulder by Mangalore Konkans Dubai, the undisputed king in organizing quality events, perhaps one among very few Mangalorean associations around the world. The association under the leadership of Santosh Nazareth have appointed Valerian Peris as the chief co-ordinator of the event and the top committee comprises James Mendonca, former president of Mangalore Konkans, Manohar Pais and Linus Moras.

Tentative Dates  (Semifinals)

September 30 in Bahrain,
October 1 in Doha,
October 7 in Muscat,
October 8 in Kuwait and
October 15 in Abu Dhabi (organized by KCO)

Grand finale will be held in Dubai on October 22.
