Mangalore, Feb 27: Muslim devouts are celebrating Eid- E- Miladulnabi all over undivided Dakshna Kannada district on Saturday February 27.
Muslims offered mass prayers and greeted each other on the festive occasion at the Idgah, Light House Hill Road in the city and various other mosques all over the district. Prayer meets and religious discourses too are organized in mosques to celebrate the day. On this day, people introspect on heir deeds and look for the ways to be better their personality towards becoming good human beings.
The day is celebrated to honour the birth and also the death of Prophet Mohammed. Coincidentally, the birth and death of Prophet Mohammed falls on the same day and hence instead of celebrating the day in a grand manner, people indulge themselves mostly in religious and social activities.
