Rajani Dugganna Set to become Next Mayor of Mangalore

Mangalore, Feb 25: The mayor’s post in the coming elections has been reserved for woman (general) and that of deputy mayor for candidate from backward class.

Rajani Dugganna of hosabettu ward has been unanimously nominated as the next mayor of the city. B Rajendra Kumar of Dongarkeri ward will be the deputy mayor. 

Rajani will succeed M Shankar Bhat, whose one-year term ended on Wednesday February 24. Her name was cleared at a meeting of Sangh Parivar leaders and district BJP leaders at a meeting held at Kaladka on Tuesday February 23 and formally consented at a meeting of BJP corporators here on Wednesday February 24. The election will be held on Friday February 26.

    Namaskara Bangera. What about closing down of 'Gadang' and Bars where poor laborers consume cheap quality, duplicate alcohol and destroy their health ? Don't be jealous of Pubs.
