Dubai: United Stars Team Wins 2010 Jenan T20 Tournament

Dubai, Feb 17: Madani Cricketers had organized the 2010 Jenan T20 Cricket Tournament here from February 5 onwards, culminating in the grand finale on February 12, 2010. The matches were played at Mamzar Cricket Grounds here.

Initially, eight teams were chosen for the tournament. After the teams faced each other in the initial matches, top four teams reached the semi finals. In the semifinals, United Stars team successfully met the challenge posed by its rival team, Top Town Cricketers, by scoring 135 runs for the loss of seven wickets in a nail-biting finish, in the 18th over. In the second semifinal match, Nafis Group, assisted by a fine 70 off 58 balls scored by Mustafa, easily posted 117 runs required for a win. Mustafa was declared as the Man of the Match in this semifinal.








In the final match, United Stars was left with the task of scoring 71 runs for an outright win. The team was successful in meeting this challenge, and won the 2010 Jehan T20 Trophy.

Both Nadeem and Mani Prasad, members of the victorious team, came out with fine performances with the ball and the bat respectively, and therefore, were adjudged the Best Bowler and Man of the Match, respectively.
