Mumbai, Feb 16
: The parishioners of St Joseph’s parish, Mira Road, witnessed a Pentecost on Sunday February 14.

The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Bishop Bosco Penha of Mumbai, alongwith 10 priests.

Bishop Penha, in his homily, stressed the importance of an open attitude towards life, which causes one to grow internally as well as externally.

He urged all adult Christians to spend at least half an hour in silent prayer which will help them come closer to God.

Later, the Bishop administered the Sacrament of Confirmation.

On this auspicious day, nearly 175 teenage parishioners were marked with the Sacrament of Confirmation.

During the mass, the Bishop and priests as well as the faithful prayed for the Holy Spirit to empower the recipient of Sacrament of Confirmation with spiritual gifts, so that they could spread the fruits of these gifts to those around them and bear witness to their Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds.

Fr Dominic Vas, parish priest of St Joseph’s parish, Mira Road, thanked everyone, especially Clifford Faria and his team and congratulated them on their efforts.
