Kuwait: Mangalore Sporting, Fahaheel Wins Young Hearts Lulu Cup 2010

Kuwait, Feb 7: Young Hearts Lulu, Fahaheel, Kuwait successfully conducted the first Young Hearts Lulu Cup 2010 that featured eight teams from here at Mangaf Ground.




In the finals Mangalore Sporting, Fahaheel defeated Lulu Hyper, Shuwaikh by five wickets. Choosing to bat after winning the toss, Lulu Hyper was restricted to 123 runs in 15 overs by Mangalore Sporting. Abdul Sathar, Zaheer Abbas, Mohammed Nawaz, Anwar took two wickets each for Sporting.

On the chase by Mangalore Sporting, frontline star batsman Mohammed Shafi failed to stay long in the crease for the first time in the tournament. With the loss of frontline batsman, Sporting No 3 Nawaz came to the rescue and accelerated the score with the innovative strokes and reached the target in a style with three overs to spare. 


Mohammed Shafi was judged Man of the Series for his successive two half-centuries in the league stage and semi-finals. All-rounder Mohammed Nawaz judged Man of the Match for his excellent performance of 67 not out and & scalping of two wickets.

After the finals prize distribution function was organized in which Naushad, senior manager, Lulu Centre, Fahaheel, Abdul Salam, Sharfuddin, Lulu awarded the trophies to the winners and runner-up.
