Shah Rukh Deserves Nishaan-E-Pakistan: Bal Thackeray

Mumbai, Jan 30 (IANS) Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray Saturday said Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan deserves Pakistan's highest civilian award, the Nishaan-E-Pakistan, for supporting the inclusion of Pakistani cricketers in the IPL.

In a scathing editorial in Saturday's party mouthpiece Saamna, Thackeray said that the "Khan" inside Shah Rukh Khan must be crushed by the "Har Har Mahadev" war cry of the "Shivaji" inside the Hindus.

This was an oblique reference to Chhatrapati Shivaji's killing of Bijapur general Afzal Khan, sent by Sultan Adil Shah II of Bijapur in 1659, at Pratapgad in Satara district of western Maharashtra.

The Shiv Sena hit out at Shah Rukh Khan, also the Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner, after he said he would have picked a Pakistani player for the Indian Premier League matches if his team had a slot.

IPL franchise owners did not bid for Pakistani players during the auction for the IPL III, which has snowballed into a major spat between the two countries.

The editorial said that if "Shah Rukh wants to give a red carpet treatment to Pakistani cricketers on the blood of innocent Indians slain by Pakistani terrorists from Kashmir to Mumbai", then, Thackeray warned, the Shiv Sena will never permit it.

It pointed out that by supporting the cause of Pakistani players, Shah Rukh has insulted the memory of the victims of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks - for which Pakistan may confer the Nishaan-E-Pakistan - but Indians will spit on him.

The editorial further noted that nobody from the Congress has raised a voice against Shah Rukh since he is considered close to Sonia Gandhi.

Thackeray wrote in his article that "since SRK has so much love for the Pakistanis the Bollywood actor could appoint 26/11 terror accused Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab as the captain of his Kolkata Knight Riders team and Mohammed Afzal Guru (facing death penalty for the 2001 attack on parliament) as the vice captain in the forthcoming IPL matches".

In this context, Thackeray praised Amitabh Bachchan for rejecting a doctorate awarded by Queensland's Brisbane University, to protest the attacks on Indians in Australia.

"This is true love for our country," he said.

In a related development, Congress state spokesman Hussain Dalwai wrote to state Home Minister R.R. Patil demanding security for Shah Rukh's forthcoming release "My Name Is Khan".

Dalwai also urged Patil to ensure that those police officers who cannot prevent violence or disruption of the movie within their respective jurisdiction must be suspended.

Former chief minister and union Minister for Heavy Industries Vilasrao Deshmukh Saturday criticized the Sena for its stand on Shah Rukh.

Well just to add a few lines. each and every time there is a war / war like situation we all support our soldiers with celebrities going to the frontline areas to show thier solidarity. But later on they are just quiet. isnt this a show from our Bollywood celebrities? Once everything is settled down we start moving a peace process towards PAK. Remember its we INDIANS who initiate the peace process and not PAK. We call their artist to perform in India and we give them the highest recognition. but then how much do PAK do to Indians?

They never did it and they will never do it. IF SRK / his family was present in that TAJ / TRIDENT Hotel and if he/ they would have survived the attack by those terrorists, then today would he dare to include PAK players in his So called KOLKOTTA KNIGHT RIDERS? Well friends this is nothing but just a small free publicity for his new film MY name is KHAN. He wants to be in news till the release of the film. Thats it. after that you see him busy in his own world. So better not waste our time behind these characters!!!!! I do not support any one in this regard. Its just my point of view towards this whole episode.

Sometime I fail to understand why this "old Buda" cries out for Australians for torturing Indians (mainly non-maharashtrians) and in India he keeps on saying Mumbai is of Marathi Manoos.? Then how come he is supporting Indians in Australia?? These MNS and Shiv Sena are deviding India and ill-trating own Indians then, how they expect good treatment from other nations?? 2nd thing, If anyone says that Mumbai is for all indians, then this so called sena leader says, "do not interfere in politics, do your job." My qestion is - who is he to tell them not to interfere in politics? Is politics is gifted to him from his ancestors.? All Indians have equal rights to speak their mind as they speak. Oh God! Save My India.

Dear Rajesh, Kulshekar, Dubai, whilst I fully agree with the majority that Pakistani players should not be allowed to play forever in India for the best reasons we all know from the past history, at the same time please be aware of Bal Thackeray’s persona. He is not the RIGHT PERSON to comment or decide on any matter because of his dubious and detrimental role he has played and has been playing from time to time.

Please be aware that history has to say that he is good for hate speeches, organized strikes, he is the troublemaker, torched hotels, root cause to create communal tensions in Mumbai. Though we are all Indian, free to move any part of the country, he hates people coming from other states to Bombay in search of green pastures. He is fond of only ‘Marathi Manoos’.

In addition to this, he also deserves criticism because in the past he has uttered that Christians should leave India and settle in Europe and Muslims in Pakistan. Also quite recently he has criticized, film star Amitabh, cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar and business tycoon Mukesh Ambani. It seems, madam Pratibha is educated to comment on her own way. What you have to say on this?

Both Amir and Sharukh are businessmen, they are no more mere actors, they produce movies and they have distributors all across Asia, Europe, US including Pakistanis based in UAE and UK. Their idea is to please these people. They say it’s just a sport but they must remember that, when it’s comes to dignity of our “Nation” against “Sports”, Nation comes first. Especially after the 26/11 event in Mumbai, where many innocents killed and India got humiliated

People are just criticizing Bal Thackery, that is strange, if he has lost sense, so has SRK, he's a great actor, but only bothered to promote a movie, watch the NDTV episode, you will as an Indian feel ashamed, he is a cunning actor who should learn a lesson from other legends, becoming a great actor is just not good enough, and Ms. Fatima, you right he should praise his ancestor home, but had he been in pakistan, he would have been a moulvi in a mosque or a terrorist, not a superstar, but these actors for their vested interests forget their pride, greed comes in, the policies of the sena are wrong, but if people like SRK are not controlled they will speak out of their mind, was SRK out of his mind when he talked, because his near and dear one was not killed doesnt mean other should feel the same, keep sports out of politics, then why not welcome Isarel to every sports meet in the Arab world. dual policy right?

Thackeray ji what you are doing is absolutelty correct. Pakistan's should not be allowed to show their smartness in our country. Be it a celebrity or a cricketer. I wonder tomorrow if the pakistani terrorist kill any family member of people who have commented here will be the same. I just wanted to see. Guys you got to wake up from sleep. If you have a power to think there will be no difficulty to understand what is happening around us. Please forget religion yaar. These pak terrorist will not see whether you are a hindu, muslim or a christian. They just open fire at INDIANS please keep in mind. We should know that government of India cannot do anything in this issue.

So we the people of the country have to do something. Just look at the land encroachment happening in indian border in google you will come to know. Please don't support celebrities just because they are celebrity. I think you guys are matured enough to understand what is happening. People who love PAK so much, why don't they settle down in PAK? Then you will come to what kind of support Indians get in PAK.
