Mangalore, Jan 15: A cat with one or more horns is found only in legends, stories involving sorcery, as well as sayings. This is so, because people have come to believe that cats can never have any horns.

A cat, which is being looked after by Vaman Salian’s family in Maravoor, Bajpe, near the city, appears to be trying to prove this belief wrong. Since the last few months, a horn-like object has been protruding from the centre of its head, in between its ears. Efforts made by some photographers earlier to catch it on camera had been proven futile, as the cat remained elusive most of the time.

While the cat itself appears to be unmindful of its celebrity status, the people are divided in their opinion as to whether this growth on its head is ominous or not. There are also those who claim that a cat with a horn is the sign that the times have changed for the worse, even though no one is sure that what they see on its head is a real horn.

It looks like an abnormal growth in the cat's body. It could be a tumour. We can never understand the feelings and suffering the cat may be undergoing with that so called horn. If the samething would have happened with human beings they would have immediately rushed for medical help. Cat needs medical attention. Poor cat.

Accepting Sonia Gandhi as a head of a political party is a shame but boasting about Bobby Jindal being Governor of Luciana is a pride. What a paradox !

Has anyone be able to understand the cats feelings. As it is commented by others, it must be a tumorous growth which should be taken care without any delay. Please show a veterinary surgeon and do the needful.

I don't agree with one of ur comment with due respect. Once sone gets a Indian citizenship they are Indians not Italians . When a Indian rules other country is fine but when some one born in different country rules it's not ok. I can't understand that mentality

This is genetical modification happened. why this is happened is a curiosity. Is it becouse of the changes in food pattern? genetically modified foods etc. unnatural ways growing of food, changing environment may be reason. as stated by Shridhara Achar man with tail is possible if we fiddle with natural systems like food and other enviromental changes in the name of science. man is altering environment no one knows what is the long term effects of this. We all have short term test and results.and we depend upon these results to satisfy ourself to take advantages of scientific inventions

If DevGowdas able to threaten Kannadigas, Reddys able to loot natural resources and Italian Sonia able to rule India, horn growing on cats head is also to be considered as normal happening!

I agree with a few others, that the 'horn' could be an unwanted growth. If I were the owner, I would take my cat to the nearest vet to get it investigated. So sad for the feline, as everyone thinks he is getting popular. For all that we know, he or she could be going through pain or discomfort.

There is nothing like `Bekkige kombu bandaga kaliyuga anthyavaguthade'. There were incidents like man with tail. Actually it is not tail, but some extra growth which is physiological disorder. But we are seeing people who behave as if they are having `taleya melondu kombu'(horn on their head)

It seems more like a tumerous growth. The cat needs immediate medical attention. Some local good samaritan could please bring this to the notice of the local Blue Cross or SPCA.
