Mangalore, Jan 15: Union minister of state for sports and youth services, Pratik Prakash Bapu Patil, inspected the City Corporation’s swimming pool and Mangala Stadium in the city on Thursday January 14. At that time, leaders Tejomaya and Mohan P V requested the minister to help the city to get its swimming pool and stadium upgraded to international level.

The minister said that his department will have its own website within the next three months, where people can get all the facilities being provided by it. He added that a training centre, sanctioned to Dakshina Kannada district earlier, could not be set up as the state government failed to provide proper site and infrastructure facilities to it.

He also visited the Congress office here and addressed the party workers, where he expressed the view that being a Congressman is a matter of pride, as it is the only party with a strong past history, dominant present and a bright future. He asked them not to lose heart just because their party is not in power in the state.

MLA, U T Khader, said that several schemes sanctioned by the union sports and youth services department to the state are not being properly implemented and asked the union government to take steps to properly monitor the implementation aspect of these schemes. He sought special impetus for Kabaddi and Kambala, which are popular in Karnataka, from the union government.

District Congress Committee president, B Ramanath Rai, presided, MLA Abhaychandra Jain, former MLA Vijaykumar Shetty, KPCC secretary, Mohammed Badruddin and various other leaders were present.

Mr. Nagesh Nayak Karnataka's bjp is making developments and bjp is a success story in your opinion. Let them give compensation to any player they need and tell them not beg with citizens. The Union minister is a congress person and where he will spend more time in bjp office? Self explanatory.
