Bantwal: Ramya Shetty Traced in Sullia – Lover in Judicial Custody

Bantwal, Jan 12: Konaje police have finally traced Ramya Shetty (21) who had gone missing with her married lover, Mohammed (45) in Sullia on Sunday January 10. Both were brought before bantwal JMFC court her on Monday January 11.

The Bantwal JMFC court has remanded judicial custody to Mohammed up to January 21 and Ramya Shetty was sent to Prajna Counselling centre. The Ramya-Mohammed duo was found in a house of a politician in Sullia, working as servants. Both had lied about their identity and name and further Mohammed had introduced Ramya as his wife.

Police informed that the duo was taken into custody at a temple fair in Sullia.

Mohammed, who is married and has three children, fled with Ramya on December 4. Following this, Ramya’s parents had lodged a complaint of kidnap against Mohammed in Konaje police station. Due to delay in investigations, Ramya’s brother filed a Habeas Corpus in the court. Further, the incident was dramatized with Hindu organizations holding a protest in front of the Konaje police station and national highway at Mudipu demanding to trace Ramya at the earliest.

It is the bad social system of 'Dowry'which is the main reason for Ramya to elope...plus the free mixing of men & women in public places....Nagesh Nayak, if you can make your Outfits BD/Rama sene work for it , I wiil be the first to Join Bajaranga Dal. I think people are exaggerating. What’s wrong if they eloped? If they like each other and if the society was a hurdle, they did right by pursing happiness OK, they have to do it legally... but all the reactions in this blog are just knee jerk type and based on traditional world view. There is absolutely no need to create religious divide. When it comes to love and sensuality, there can be no man made barriers.

Please do not mistake the word "Prajna Counselling Centre". The Centre is also a women shelter home. The government and more particularly the women and child department has closed down all shelter homes and the reception centers of DK district which is an essential need. The nwomen in need of care, protection and rehabilitastion till further orders are housed at Prajna and not for counselling. I too agree if the custody is awarded it should be to both or as they are adults as per constitution give them their liberty. But let me spesify both have erred and put their families into torturous sadness.

We require 2 hands to clap not one. Those who comment negatively against Mohammed I have straight forward question. How many men even after marriage having illicit relationship with other women, married or single. Aren't they spoiling families or spinster’s life? What about Ramya. Is she been harassed or physically tortured? If it is forceful, then she would have asked for help but it seems she has given her consent of free will as they are working for politicians house and living as married couple. Both parties should be blamed and we should apply language and solution which only they understand.

Now Ramya is back and you see that this same community once showed interest to find her now will not accept her and she will not be allowed to marry a man from her own community. Her own family and community members will make her life more miserable .She would have been more peaceful in Sullia or where ever Mohammed kept her safe. Anyhow this Ramya created an opportunity to these leaders to become famous by raising this issue. The leaders of RSS,VHP,Rama Sene,Bajarang Dal and many other so called protectors of Hindu Culture use this issue as a platform to come together to show their presence and entity in this world or otherwise public in general will forget the names of such parties and groups. Mohammed will come out very soon. There is no such law to prosecute him unless his previous wife files a case. That too if she want to save him she can permit him to marry Ramya shetty and he can marry 4 as per the muslim law. All this drama will end and all the efforts of VHP, BD, RS, and RSS are futile and proved to be unconstitutional. This is not love jihad but it’s a simple love affair, there is no death here, so how to entertain word jihad Unless a death has occurred.

But, one thing I want to clear that if this Ramya would not have traced then I would have considered this in Mohan Kumar's "LOVE CYANIDE". The entire incident seems to be a well written drama to desperately prove that a senseless word 'love Jihad' is in practice. Both the man and the girl may have been paid a good sum of money for their role or the man may have been trapped by the girl with her charm according to the directions of some the well known miscreant groups to create communal disharmony in the society.

Who is this politician with whom these people were working ? Why this politician was unaware of the incident ? Why Ramya is not allowed to speak to media ? Why does she needs a counselling ? Why did not she be sent to Judicial custody as well as she also is equally responsible for theis incident ? The main question is why Hindu girls elope with Muslim boys ?

Its not fair blaming just mohammed in this case! Its true that he should have been aware of his commitments towards his marriage but having said that Ramya was not a milking babe, even she had her senses of what she was doing. I believe both fell in love and as everyone says,Everything is fair in Love and war, they just ignored their responsibilities and followed their body cravings. No group has the legal right to say that, Ramya was kidnapped. Nagesh Nayak is once again out with his crazy comments. Is this case where a married man with 3 kids falls in love with a girl belonging to another community and who is equally guilty elope to a nearby village and start living together be described as LOVE JIHAD?. Both parties are equally guilty here. Ramya was not kidnapped but willingly went away with Mohamed. The right thing for Mohamed to do was legally divorce his wife and then marry Ramya legally. He has today broken the marriage laws of the land thats all. At the same time we do not say anything about Dharmendra and Hema Malini. Is it because both are members of BJP?.

Why give a communal angle to these simple facts and rant and rave. Are hindu boys in today's India not marrying girls belonging to other religions and communities. What has Nagesh Nayak to say about this?. When communalism poisons the mind then it is worse than cancer. We may be able to find a cure for cancer but i don't think we will ever find a cure for communalism.
