Udupi, Dec 27: Prathama Rathotsava ceremony after Navakanakaratna ratha, the gem-studded chariot was dedicated to Lord Krishna of Udupi Mutt was held on Saturday December 27 evening amid cheers of devotees galore.



Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt installed Lord Krishna’s idol on the chariot after puja and also drw the chariot for the first time. Sri Raghumanyateertha Swamiji of Bheemanakatte Mutt, Sri Raghuvarendrateertha Swamiji, Sri Vidyeshateertha Swamiji of Bhandarakeri Mutt, Sri Vidyavallabhateertha Swamiji of Kaniyoor Mutt, home minister Dr V S Achrya, minister for higher education Aravind Limbavali, MLA K Raghupati Bhat and Iskcon, Bangalore unit head Madhupanditdas among others were present.

Three-day cultural and religious programme will be held at Bhandarakeri Mutt from Sunday December 27 every evenings as part of the event.
