Saudi Arabia : IFF's Eid Sports at Al Hasa and Dammam

Media Release by Mohammed Iqbal

Dammam, KSA, Dec 15: India Fraternity Forum had organized Eid Sports on the next day of Eid – Ul – Adha. Eid-ul-Adha is a day on which the Muslims gratefully recollect the greatness and benevolence of Allaah, His blessings for them and the obedience of Prophet Ibrahim to his Lord, and his act of sacrifice.

The sports events had been organized in Dammam as well as Al-Hasa, in which around 10 teams representing various areas participated. In Dammam, the event was coordinated by Ibrahim Krishnapura, while in Al-Hasa, this responsibility was undertaken by Mustafa, Iqbal Ankajal and Abdul Sathar.

The sports activities were initiated at 7.00 am, with the flagging off of the march past with the participation of the members of all the teams. Different teams sported different dress codes, which made the event very colourful.
The event was inaugurated by Abdul Sathar (president of Tamilnadu Welfare Association) in Dammam, with Anwar Sha  and Abdul Khader doing the honours in Al-Hasa. A number of sports events had been lined up for the day, including running races, gunny bag race, slow cycle race, three-legged race, long jump, frog jump, pot breaking, tug of war and balloon-bursting, etc. Different games were conducted for the children, by forming different groups based on their ages.

Anwar Sha of Al-Hasa gave a brief introduction about the birth and activities of India Fraternity Forum. The guest of the occasion, Abdul Sathar, spoke to the audience and conveyed the message of Eid-Ul-Adha.

The prizes were then given away by Abdul Sathar in Dammam and Anwar Sha in Al-Hasa. Team Challengers, Dammam, emerged as the champions. Vote of thanks was proposed by Iqbal Ankajal in Al-Hasa and Faizal in Dammam.
