I congratulate Jeppu parishoners who won the competition. Actually Jeppu parishioners are very multi-talented people. The Konkani music maestro Wilfy Rebimbus is from jeppu. The native of Eric Ozario, who always sets records in konkanni, is from jeppu. Late Jemi Baraquos, Edwin Netto, Lilly Miranada, Tony Ferros etc are the popular names in Mangalorean Konkani literatutre, are of jeppu parish. The very talented choreographer Sudhi Fronteiro, who was the main choreographer of wilfy nites, now running a popular dance school in Kuwait, is from jeppu. Who can forget St Joseph’s Natak Sangh, who set the path of Mangalorean Konkani theatre in early 1900s & inspired Konkani theatre giants like Late Simon Rasquina, was born at jeppu. The famous dramatist of jeppu, Late Luvi Netto, who was known for the romans’ historical dramas, was the fruit of this Sangh. He is only one example, but there were many talented actors. Singers Babita D’sa, Vivi Santos, Lawrence Baptist, Arun D’souza Ivi Dsouza (now Shakthinagar) are the pride of jeppu. I mentioned only few. But the list goes on. May the Glory of Jeppu prevail.
