Abu Dhabi: Konkani Mission DVD Released at St Joseph Cathedral

Abu Dhabi, Dec 13: A Konkani Mission DVD produced in three parts, Parts I, II and II, which was recorded live at Abu dhabi Cathedral in open air, was released recently. The DVD, presently available for sale in Oman, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Kuwait, will be shortly made available in India.

The retreat was preached to a gathering of around 2000, and is well appreciated. The MP3 version of the retreat also will be made available shortly.

The title of the DVD is ‘The Kingdom of God is at Hand – Konkani Mission 2009’, and the themes covered are Kingdom of God, eight beatitudes and the Kingdom of God, the Seven Sacraments and the Kingdom of God, the Ten Commandments and the Kingdom of God, the Catholic Church, and lastly, Mother Mary Family.

The DVD has been produced by Joel Crasta and Associates, Abu dhabi, Sharjah and Al Ain. The Retreat was preached by Fr Rudolf V D’Souza OCD. The programme was organized by The Konkani Charismatic Grop Abu Dhabi, managed by Fr Antony Lopez, Steven Almeida and Associates.

I was eagerly waitng to buy DVD as I heard about it from others. I took quite a long time to collect and listen to it as I live in a remote place. It was a New Year's gift to me to recall God's word sown in the year 2009 and accept it as a gift for the year 2010. The whole family enjoys listening to it. It was worth listening than attending an expensive New Year's party. The DVD is really wonderful!

Fr. Rudy, I talked to you in Sharjah. You told me that there would be also a DVD from Sharjah. I saw them recofing it all 5 days in Sharjah. Daijie world speaks only of Abudhabi DVD, waht about our DVD from our parish? Did you merge it in Abudhabi DVD? I want get one as early as possible, because our entire family pariticipated in Sharjah and it was a great experience. I never heard of any retreat like this one. All at home remmber you. Hi, Fr. Rudy we rememebr you a lot, often we miss your wonderful person from the parish. I felt at times not going to the church, we miss your spicy sermons full of humor and practical ways and means of putting the word of God into action. More than anything we miss your broad smile in the Church grounds and your affection towards the senior citizens and children. My daughter asks me when are you coming back to Mira Road, because she misses all those action stories you were telling to childrens. Dear Fr. Rudolf, I have never seen such a response to any DVD or CD in Abudhabi, after Fr. Antony Lopez annouced it again on Friday. People were flocking to buy your DVD. I pray that this DVD be reached to all our Gulf parishes as early as possible, otherwise they will make illegal copies and hear. The DVD recording is great, it gives an impression that it is done in professional studio. Only at the end of the DVD we come to know that it is is done in open air St. Joseph's Cathedral Ground. This DVD must be sold in Mangalore as early as possible, because there is such a great demand for solid spiritual food. Your talk on Catholic Church has enlightened me, you have defended the cathoica Church as her true and faithful son. This will be a terrible blow to all splinter preaching groups in our diocese. I remember you preached whole day retreat at Carmel Hill, in 2007. It was a marvellous experience for me, because you had spoken on creation of God, galaxies, stars, sun and the depth of the oceans. Dear Fr. Rudolf, I wish that your DVD's are made available in Chicago, as we are a number pople here from Goa and Mangalore. We would enjoy your sermons when we do not have anyone speaking to us in Konkani. There are many seniour citizens who long to listen to good konkani sermons and you are the one who was often refered to in this part of the world. Dear Fr. Rudy, thank you for coming to Abudhabi and Sharjah. We wanted such a retreat. Your message to builing a genuine family was really powerful and practical. I have already implemented most of the inspirations especially praying together and taking food together at home. When we take food we remember you telling us that Eucharist is lived through our daily meals time and we begin to share our joys, fun, sorrows and our children really understand our difficulties. Of course they also remember your great jokes. God bless you father and we pray you get a long life here on earth. We really miss you after your retreat. Dany
