Mangalore, Dec 10: In an incident that occurred at about 10.45 am on Thursday December 10 at Bikarnakatte in the city, two vehicles parked in the parking space located under a house there, were reduced to ashes, with only the skeletons of the vehicles remaining at the end.

Leakage of gas in Maruti Omni vehicle is said to have caused the fire. Soon, a gas cylinder burst into flames, causing the fire to spread to the nearby Maruti Alto vehicle, which too was gutted down soon. The fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames.

The plastering of the concrete house under which the two vehicles were parked, turned black with smoke, and the timely operation by the fire brigade averted further losses.
