Dubai, Dec 9: Dubai-based organization, ‘Navu Namma Kannada’, had organized ‘Hasyotsava’, festival of humour, with the participation of Pranesh, popularly known as ‘Gangavati Beechi’ and Ravi Bhajantri, known as ‘Hasyachakravarti’. The programme was organized for helping the flood victims of North Karnataka.

Over 500 people had gathered at JSS International School here on Friday December 4 for the said programme.  The programme began with a prayer by Megha Joshi and Rashmi. Srinath Rajanna and Jyoti Baddi compered the programme in a beautiful way, interspersing their presentations with jokes.

After the two performers were introduced, Pranesh in his introductory address, thanked Dubai-based poet, Eranna Moolimani, for helping him to present his first programme away from homeland.

Bhajantri then took the stage for the next 75 minutes, which looked very short, before handing over the mike to his mentor, Pranesh. Pranesh ridiculed some top actors for failing to understanding the difference between pronouncing some words with ‘Aa’ or ‘Ha’, and requested the residents here to teach their children Kannada, without completely getting bowled over by English language.

JSS School principal, Geeta Basavaraj and ‘Navu Namma Kannada’ representative, Girish Patil, handed over bouquets to the two visitors. Mementos were presented to them by Shivanand Challamarada and Murugesh Gajare. Asharani proposed vote of thanks. Media representatives, Radio Spice and SahilOnline.org were also honoured on this occasion.

It was informed that the donation collected from this programme will be handed over to ‘The Mysore Citizens Forum’, Mysore, for being used for helping the flood victims of North Karnataka. Another local organization, ‘Basava Samiti’ also will be handing over six lac rupees collected by it, to the said organization for flood relief operations.

"Wonderful function" for a good cause. The humor of MR. Paranesh and Mr. Bhajantri was related to daily life and did create waves of laughter from the full house of audience. Both the professionals kept the audience spell bound for over two hours and it was enjoyable to the maximum. Navu Namma Kannada deserves all the credit for organising such a wonderful programme for a good cause as well as to give relief to the people here in Dubai who are also living in the floods of constant tensions and worries at least for a couple of hours. We congratulate Mr. Murugesh Gajare, Mr. Eranna Moolimani and his team for presenting with such a good quality programme. RADIO SPICE 105.4 FM
