Mangalore: Sports Meet for Home Guards of Western Range Held in City

Mangalore, Dec 8:
Home guards of western range gathered in the city on Monday December 7 to participate in the sports meet at DAR police grounds.    
 
Costal Development Authority chairman B Nagaraj Shetty was the chief guest, who was accorded the guard of honour. Home guards from four districts coming under the western range participated in several events organized during the meet. 


 

Team from Uttara Kannada bagged the overall championship at the sports meet. Dr Nidarsh Hegde, commandant of home guards said that the sports meet is an annual feature that provides an opportunity for home guards of the western range to showcase their excellence in sports apart from giving them a chance to meet up and interact with one another.
 
Over 100 members from four districts under western range participated in the sports meet.
