Mangalore, Dec 6: Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza inaugurated and blessed the renovated St Rita Church, Cascia, here on Sunday December 6.  The church was renovated to mark its platinum jubilee celebrations.

The Bishop also presided over the Eucharistic celebration along with many diocesan priests and St Rita parish priest Fr Vincent Menezes, which was attended by a large number of parishioners and their relatives.

He also blessed the Grotto of St Rita and Our Lady of Lourdes at the parish premises.

Bishop D’Souza also honoured the building contractor Noel F C Pinto, architect Anil Lobo, and electrical contractor Susheel Noronha, during the stage programme held after the Eucharistic celebration.

City deanery Episcopal vicar Fr Stany Goveas was the chief guest on the occasion who honoured key construction workmen.

Fr Menezes, parish council vice-president Vincent Mendonca, and secretary Gulobia Tauro were present on the dais.

Mendonca welcomed the gathering while Fr Menezes proposed the vote of thanks.  Janet Pinto and Sudeep Castelino compered the programme.

Within a record time of 8 months after taking over the St. Dominic church of Miyar, to which I belong, Fr.Vincent was responsible for the construction of the Jubilee Hall. No wonder he could complete the renovation of the present of St. Rita Church of Cascia, after his transfer to Cascia from Miyar. Fr. Vincent you are great. May God bless you and the fortunate people of Cascia.

I am extremely happy to see THE NEW LOOK with regard to St. Rita's Church. Of course Our Bishop has to be there at the inauguration of The renovated Church. He has tender and nostalgic memories of this Parish as he was the pastor there for many years. It was at this Church that I personally called on Bishop A.P. (then Father A.P.) to invite him for my daughter's wedding which invitation he willingly accepted. It is good to see the great PRESSMAN NOW TURNED INTO A BUILDER and I am aware that this is a dream child of Father Vincy Menezes. Father Vincy - A good Job done...My hearty congratulations to you. May you and your work and your mission be blessed. Joe Gonsalves

Fr. Vincent Menezes is the one priest whom I admire the most! He is a priest for Poor. The parishioners of Kirem witnesses to this fact! Such is his love for poor people. A person who does not like to show or boast whatsover he does. If today, Raknno cicultes in the rural areas, I can tell it from the PULPIT, it is because of this St. Paul, Fr. Vincent Menezes. God Bless Fr. V.V. Menezes, who is popularly known as.

Dear Fr. Vincent we miyar parishoners are always proud of you. You did lot of hard work to build a hall(auditorium ) as well as modified old church in miyar . You continued jour journey to kassia and gave kassia church a new look which sets an example to other priests to render their services to christian community without considering any benefit. I pray god to keep you in good health always so as our community requires the able priest like you who always strives hard for the betterment of the christian community with his deep knowledge and excellency skills .
